Laboratory Introduction

Bioinformatics Laboratory (BioInfo Lab) at Hanoi University of Science and Technology focuses on developing computational methods, artificial intelligence, and data-driven approaches to address challenging problems in modern biology and biomedicine. As biological data continues to grow rapidly with advances in sequencing and high-throughput technologies, our laboratory aims to transform large-scale biological data into meaningful biological knowledge and practical biomedical applications.

Our research integrates bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology to analyze complex biological systems. The main research directions of the lab include Genome Analysis, where we develop algorithms for sequence analysis, variant detection, and genomic data interpretation; Computational Drug Discovery, which focuses on AI-driven prediction of drug–target interactions, drug synergy, and molecular property modeling; Personalized Medicine, where we study genomic and biomedical data to support precision healthcare; and Forensic DNA Profiling, which applies bioinformatics techniques for genetic identification and forensic analysis.

Beyond research, the lab is committed to training undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students in bioinformatics and AI for life sciences through research projects, seminars, and advanced training courses. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between biology, computer science, and data science, BioInfo Lab aims to contribute to the advancement of bioinformatics research, biomedical innovation, and next-generation data-driven healthcare solutions.
